They didn't, did they?

That's right, the Van Smithstrands have keys to something other than a bike lock. Introducing, the 1987 900 dollar special, the White Volvo 240 DL. Amenities include one working seat warmer, cracked side mirror, broken antenna, vintage looking and equally vintage functioning radio, and lots of hippie, pacific northwest charm.

Away From Home

Papa was away in NYC and DC last week, and missed his girls! However, J sent him pics from each day to give him a little chicken time while he was away.
Here are some of them.

The Three of Us!

The whole family in one picture! Thanks to our pal Susie for the picture, and for throwing the great Sustainable Capitol Hill Fair. Also, should any of you readers live in Seattle and are looking for a cool, co-working environment, check her out at www.officenomads.com.

Wedding Part Six: The Ceremony

Some highlights:
Most of these pictures were taken by others. Our camera died before the wedding, so we had to borrow these. Big ups to Lindsay for these.
The events of the weekend caught up to Lucy about 3 minutes before J gave her toast. I hear it was a good one. My parents were kind enough to take Lucy back to the hotel for the night (I think they were a bit past their bedtime as well). As the pictures reflect, we proceeded to get our groove on.

Wedding Part Five: Lucy Interlude and A Few Thank You's

Lucy in her various party dresses. We'd like to shout out to a few of you who made the weekend such a blast for the Van SmithStrand Crew. In no particular order:
Grandpa Jim and (Amazing) GrammLeenie: Much thanks for taking care of the wee one when her parents wanted to act like irresponsible children. Is there any doubt Lucy adores the two of you?
Marion and Luis: Lucy finally met Luis! Thanks so much for babysitting on Thursday night, and for being spontaneous and fun all weekend.
Reeve and Kit: Thanks for the ride to the airport, and for being the perfect grandparents (especially the presents!).
Chris and Sarah: You two rock. Lucy went on and on about how this was her favorite wedding, how she can't wait to visit you guys in Chicago, and so on. You both made us feel welcome and part of your world, as always.
Fallons, Chapmans, Dorseys, and Cass': Lucy was feeling the love from Marion's Crew. Thanks for being so great with her.

Wedding Part Four: The Rehearsal Dinner

Lucy was EVERYWHERE during the Rehearsal Dinner.

Wedding Part Three: We Go Our Separate Ways

The guys drank all day, and then played laser tag! (this is Eddie, one of Chris' friends from college).

The girls were more traditional, taking Sarah on a bar crawl around Chicago

Wedding Part Two: Lucy Meets Luis

Lucy finally meets Luis. It was love at first sight, for both.

Wedding Part One: The Plane Ride

We flew to Chicago, which was Lucy's first plane ride. She was a star.
